Medical Research

DCA’s health system clients average in size from $2.0 – $7.0 billion in annual revenues, and the organizations manage about 50 – 1,500 studies concurrently, depending on the client’s size and stage of maturity.

Investigators in client organizations are primarily involved in translational and comparative effectiveness research, clinical trials (pharmaceuticals and medical devices), disease-based clinical research and outcome studies, and population-based research.

Phase III and Phase IV clinical trials are most evident in community hospital/clinic settings and DCA’s clinical trials experience involves organizations that conduct an estimated 50 – 600 such studies per year. The operational issues stemming from these studies relate more to the diseases of interest than to the number of studies underway at any given time.

Community academic health care systems throughout the country retain DCA to assist them in re-thinking their current research agendas and operations as a basis for developing future research enterprise-wide directions and strategies.
